Kindling's 2016 Year in Review

2016 was packed. We were fortunate to be a part of so many weddings & engagement sessions all over the US (and even Mexico!). It was our busiest year since we've started documenting weddings and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who included us in their day.

We grew a lot this year and we're really proud of the work we did, so we made this ridiculously long blog post to share some of the highlights from the year. We're really excited for you to see these images.

Here's to more weddings and amazing couples in the future!

Autumn Wedding in the Heart of St. Louis, Missouri

Emily and Danny had such a fun group of friends and family around them for their wedding day. The ceremony was at the gorgeous and ornate Memorial Presbyterian across from Forest Park in St. Louis, Missouri. Their reception was at North 13th Events. It was decked out with tons of warmth and light. Ferns strung over the white brick walls and hundreds of candles created a beautiful and intimate atmosphere.

Stormy Engagement Photos | Kansas City, Missouri

Bryan and Jillian met us for engagement photos last week and right as they pulled in, it started to rain. So naturally we went into the woods, had a beer under a canopy of trees and an umbrella and waited for the storm to pass. The rain held off for a while and made for an incredible sunset as we finished up the photos. We can't wait for their wedding next May!

Everything was so low-key and relaxed we felt more like guests than photographers.

Tiffany + Joel Engagement

Last month we spent a Tuesday evening hiking through Hobbs State Park in Arkansas with Tiffany and Joel. We had only chatted via FaceTime previously, but as soon as we started hanging out and taking photos, it was evident that we were a great match. Plus, they are huge Sporting KC fans, so that will give us a good excuse to spend time together next time they are in town for a game!

Rachel + Hugh Engagement

You could say Rachel and Hugh's engagement session was pretty dreamy. We went with them and their awesome dog, Oberon, to Clinton State Park, just outside of Lawrence Kansas. It was early spring so we were excited for the chance be outside without our heavy winter coats. As the sun began to set we climbed a big grassy hill to chase the last bit of golden sun before it dipped behind the forest horizon.
