Wedding? Elopement? I don't know what the best term for this day was I just know it was amazing. Jordan and Josh got married on the morning of a hot June day in the beautiful chapel at Powell Gardens, just outside of Kansas City. The wedding party was just four people: the couple and their siblings. The wedding was officiated by Josh's brother and their immediate family were the only people in attendance. It was intimate and calm. During the ceremony you could see geese gathering on the lake through the windows behind the altar. Before the ceremony Jordan and Josh read personal vows to each other in the woods outside of the chapel.
After the ceremony everybody met for lunch at The Westside Local in Kansas City's Westside District. Boulevard beers and The Local's famous parmesan fries were abundant as well as laughter and kind words from their family.
Weddings are changing. More folks are making the day their own, shedding old traditions and making new ones. This day was a brilliant reflection of Jordan and Josh's personality and laid back nature. We hope we can be a part of more days like this.
